Call for Papers
As Program Chair of the 2007 annual conference of the North Carolina
Religious Studies Association, it is my pleasure to announce that the
meeting will be held this year on Friday, October 26 on the campus of
Fayetteville State University.
Proposals or abstracts of papers, completed papers, or topics for panel
discussion on any area in the academic study of religion--and of
philosophy as it pertains to religion --are welcome. Presentation time for
papers must not exceed twenty minutes in order to allow time for questions
and discussion. Send proposals, abstracts, papers and topics by JUNE 30,
2007, to me at choyt@wcu.edu.
Submission via e-mail attachment, preferably in Microsoft Word, is
strongly encouraged. If you choose to submit a paper or proposal by
regular mail (Christopher Hoyt, Department of Philosophy and Religion,
Western Carolina University, Stillwell 226, Cullowhee, NC 28723), I would
appreciate an e-mail to let me know you have done so.
This year the Association will honor the best student papers,
undergraduate and graduate, with a stipend of $100 each, to be awarded at
the conference. To be eligible, students must submit the entire paper
(c.2500 words) by June 30. The submission must also be accompanied by a
brief supporting letter from a faculty sponsor.
I look forward to seeing you in Fayetteville.
