Call for Papers
Friends and Colleagues,
As Program Chair of the 2006 annual conference of the North Carolina
Religious Studies Association, it is my pleasure to announce that the
meeting will be held this year on Friday, October 6 on the campus of UNC
Charlotte. The event will be hosted by the UNC Charlotte Department of
Religious Studies.
Proposals for or abstracts of papers, completed papers, or topics for
panel discussion on any area in the academic study of religion--and of
philosophy as it pertains to religion --are welcome. Presentation time for
papers must not exceed twenty minutes in order to allow time for questions
and discussion. Send proposals, abstracts, papers and topics by JUNE 30,
2006, to me at mroncace@wingate.edu.
Submission via e-mail attachment, preferably in Microsoft Word, is
strongly encouraged. If you choose to submit a paper or proposal by
regular mail (Wingate University, Box 3075, Wingate, NC 28174), I would
appreciate an e-mail to let me know you have done so.
This year the Association will be sponsoring students, undergraduate
and/or graduate, who write the best papers. Recipients will receive a
stipend ($50-75 depending on funds and number of submissions) and will be
recognized at the Conference. To be eligible, students must submit the
entire paper (c. 10 double spaced pages) by June 30. The submission must
also be accompanied by a brief supporting letter from a faculty sponsor.
I look forward to seeing you in Charlotte for a stimulating and
rewarding exchange of ideas.
Mark Roncace
2006 Program Chair
