Conference Theme:

        Mentoring:  Practice, Theories, and Research

Abstracts, not to exceed two (2) pages in length, which relate to mentoring in higher education, should be submitted.  Paper sessions will focus on the following areas:  Roles and Responsibilities of Mentors and Proteges; Mentoring in  Applied Settings (i.e., academic, co-ops, internships, mental health, community service); Model Mentoring Programs (e.g., programs that  "work"), Diversity Issues in Mentoring (e.g., cross-cultural, cross-gender); Mentoring Across Disciplines; Assessing Mentoring Effectiveness; Roundtable Discussion on Mentoring; Other Related Mentoring Topics.  College and university instructors/professors, researchers, and practitioners who work to motivate and support students, proteges, and trainees to achieve academic and professional success are especially encouraged to submit abstracts.  The Association invites professionals in any discipline who are engaged in mentoring activities or research to submit abstracts.  Students also are encouraged to submit abstracts for the session "Student Perspectives on Mentoring."  Students awards will be given.  For additional information on the student session, visit our website at http://www.uncfsu.edu/namhe or e-mail us at namhe@uncfsu.edu.
