The Student Safety Squad patrol provides escort service and rides for
the campus community Sunday through Friday to any location on the campus.
They patrol the campus on foot periodically during the day and night, going
through buildings, reporting any suspicious activity, suspicious persons,
or criminal activity. The University has information booths
at key locations around the campus. They are staffed by our Student
Safety Squad members. The Student Safety Squad members are provided
through the University Work Study program. The students report to
work just as if they were working a job off campus or in the regular work
force. They work games, special events, and occasionally escort the
Chancellor to and from these events. Any interested persons can contact
the Financial Aid office at Fayetteville State University by E-mail or
at the website address. http://www.uncfsu.edu
EMERGENCY CALL BOXES
Eighteen emergency boxes, (orange in color with an identifying blue
light), have been strategically placed throughout the University Campus.
When activated, a call for assistance is relayed directly to the police
department telecommunicator, and simultaneously transmitted to patrol officers
radios, resulting in quick response. When visiting the campus, please
remember to ask for a map. The campus map give the location of the
emergency call boxes.

EMERGENCY PHONE BOXES
Emergency phone boxes have been installed at all the academic buildings.
The phone boxes can be used for campus calls only, and has an emergency
button that goes through to our emergency phone number when activated.
BRONCO POLICE NEWSLETTER
The Crime Prevention Division publishes a newsletter twice a
month to keep the university community informed about recent incidents that
have occurred, as well as crime prevention tips. It reminds the campus
about the various crime prevention programs that are available through the
university police department. Information is given on how to report a
crime and telephone hotline numbers if they prefer to remain anonymous.
Information on domestic violence, Crime Control and Public Safety issues
(child safety, click it or ticket, battered women etc.) are just a few issues
that are discussed in the newsletter. The goal of the newsletter is to
be informative, and to increase awareness about safety issues for the entire
community. It encourages and stress the importance of reporting crimes
whether in person, by telephone, or through an anonymous report. It's
objective is to reach as many people as possible with information that will
foster a change in their thinking about safety and the security of personal
property. To create a culture that says Fayetteville State University
cares for and about it community's well-being.
