Center for Historically and Predominately Black Colleges and Universities
Scope of Operation
 | Provide assistance to
HBCUs on infrastructure issues;
|
 | Work with groups such as
university presidents, deans, department chairs and faculty in special education areas;
|
 | To encourage
institutions of higher education (IHE) programs for a career-ladder approach to special
education training with emphasis on the involvement of African-American special education
paraprofessionals;
|
 | Provide project
participants with information on funding sources;
|
 | Disseminate OCR Minority
Competition Request for Proposals (RFPs) to higher education network.
|
 | Provide review panels
for any proposals to be submitted by project participants.
|
There are three other
centers funded by the New Alliance Project. The centers are:
 | BUENO Center for
Hispanic Colleges and Universities at the University of Colorado in Boulder Colorado.

 | Asian/Pacific Colleges
and Universities at California State University in Los Angeles California.
|
 | Tribal Communities and
Colleges Rural American Initiative.
